The most important step on the road to financial independence is obtaining and following a financial plan.

Financial advice can help you. Financial planning is simply the process of identifying your personal and financial goals and creating ways to help achieve them. It covers a broad range of areas including wealth creation, insurance, borrowing to invest, tax effective investing, superannuation, retirement planning, redundancy, estate planning and others.

What is a financial plan?

A financial plan is like a road map setting out how to take you from where you are now to where you would like to be. As your financial needs change over time, any financial plan or investment strategy you have should be flexible and reviewed regularly.

A good plan is also realistic, takes time and discipline to achieve, and is developed through a structured process that is tailored to achieve your financial goals.

What is the process?

To fully understand your financial situation our financial planner will arrange a meeting with you to gather facts about your personal and financial situation. They will ask for some personal information in order to provide advice and a financial plan that is tailored to you.

A good financial plan:

  • Outlines details of your current financial situation
  • Identifies your personal and financial goals
  • Identifies any financial problems
  • Provides written recommendations & solutions
  • Explains how the steps in the plan will help you achieve your financial goals
  • Details any risks involved
  • Clearly details all costs

A financial plan takes two weeks to create following your initial meeting with our financial planners. Once you have reviewed the plan and accepted the recommendations, the financial plan can be implemented. This process generally takes up to a month to complete.
