GIVIT is a national online not-for-profit connecting those who need with those willing to give. Through its website givit.org.au, trusted Australian charities are supported as they request essential, quality items on behalf of their clients. GIVIT matches their needs with public and corporate generosity, facilitating quality goods to reach our most vulnerable, impoverished and marginalised individuals in a safe, easy and timely manner.
GIVIT, in partnership with the Queensland Government and Townsville City Council, is managing all offers of assistance for the Queensland Floods. We have managed donations and appeals for all recent major Queensland disaster events including the Brisbane Floods, Tropical Cyclone Debbie, the recent Gladstone fires and both the Ravenshoe and Dreamworld tragedies.
Queensland Flood Appeal
- 100% of money received is used to support residents affected by the flood. GIVIT does not take administration fees. All operational costs are covered by government contracts and corporate sponsors.
- Donations made via GIVIT will provide critical and immediate support to residents impacted by the flooding as well as providing longer recovery support to re-establish homes and help communities recover.
- GIVIT works closely with local agencies, charities and community groups to identify the true need within the community. Partners for this event include: Townsville City Council, Department of Communities, Lifeline, the Australian Red Cross, Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul Society as well as a range of smaller neighbourhood centres and community groups – GIVIT is the “charity for charities”.
- In order to support the economic recover of affected communities, GIVIT is committed to purchasing from local retailers wherever possible.
To help communities affected by serious flooding in Queensland please donate funds, goods and services online at givit.org.au/qldfloods or via your nearest Queensland Country Credit Union branch.
