Queensland Country Bank began supporting hardworking Queenslanders as the Isa Mine Employees’ Credit Union Limited in 1971. We grew out of a community call to support the basic banking and small lending needs of employees of Mount Isa Mines Limited (MIM) and related companies, such as MIM Holdings, Carpentaria Exploration Company, Copper Refineries, Collinsville Coal Company and Townsville Transport Services (TTS).

By the late 1970s word about our member-owned model had spread and the credit union was approached by Pioneer Sugar in North Queensland to provide the same services for their employees.

Eventually membership eligibility, product offering and branch locations expanded and as Queensland Country Bank we are now positioned to support people right across the state.

These days we are here to help all hardworking Queenslanders to achieve their goals. We believe strongly that this means offering more than just an account or a loan, and are proud of the education seminars, community partnerships, sponsorships and grants program we have developed to help people in our communities live better lives through better finances.
