Who can apply for a Queensland Country Good for Good Community Grant?
Applications are open to community groups, clubs and not-for-profit community groups and clubs that meet the following eligibility criteria:
1. Applicants must be current Members of the Grant Provider;
2. The total amount to be funded by way of a grant must be between $5,000 and $30,000;
3. Grant projects must fall into one of the following categories:
- sport and recreation
- arts, culture and heritage;
4. Successful applicants must agree to commit to fundraising 10% of the awarded grant amount to be provided to the Ronald McDonald House North Queensland or Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Chapter

What is Queensland Country Good for Good Community Grants?
Queensland Country Good for Good Community Grants is the collaboration between Queensland Country Credit Union and a Charity Partner for the Queensland Country Community Grant program. Think of it as paying it forward as Queensland Country Good for Good Community Grants allows grant recipients to fundraise a portion (10%) of their awarded grant amount on behalf of our Charity Partner.

My community group is based in Southern Queensland. Is there an option to fundraise on behalf of another Charity Partner so that it can be injected back into my local community?
Absolutely. During the application process you will nominate whether you want to fundraise for the North Queensland Chapter or South East Chapter. While located in Brisbane and Townsville, the families that the Chapters service are located right across the State.

How much funding can my group apply for?
Grant amounts range between $5,000 and $30,000 including GST.
Can you tell me a little more about the categories of funding I apply under?
There are five categories:
- Sport and recreation which involves projects that improve and promote leisure and physical activity in your community. Examples may include purchase of first aid equipment, upgrade of turf/pitch/court, purchase of training equipment and upgrade of workshop or tools.
- Health. Improving mental and physical health through equipment, education, practice and access in local area. Some previous grant recipient examples include purchase and install of portable defibrillators, establish an activity program for individuals and carers affected by strokes, establish a community based suicide prevention program, purchase of training aides or duress alarms.
- Education – Furthering, improving or tolls for education for all ages and demographics examples of which include but are not limited to; purchase of books for a reading program, purchase or upgrade of equipment to be used as teaching aides, purchase of computer equipment for delivery of training courses.
- Environment – Environmental education and eco-friendly solutions that may include purchase initiatives such as and install of rainwater tank, purchase or upgrade to wildlife saving equipment, create or revitalise school rainforest area.
- Arts, culture and heritage – Preservation of art and cultural heritage which help tell the story of your people. Examples include purchase of equipment, upgrade/repair of tools, purchase and installation of special lights, artefacts or display cabinet.
Our club isn't a Queensland Country Member. Can we still apply?
Yes – you can still apply but before your application can be submitted your Community Group will need to be a Member of Queensland Country Credit Union.
How does my community group become a Member of Queensland Country Credit Union?
Becoming a Member is quite simple. It’s opening an account with us. Keep in mind it will have to be in the Community Group’s name so you will have to supply verification documentation for the club and its signatories. Call into your local branch and chat to the team about what your clubs banking needs are and they will be able to help you out. Be sure to ask them more about our Community Partner Program and how it can help raise funds for your club.

When will I find out the outcome of my application?
Grant applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application from 16 March 2018.
What happens once my grant has been approved?
Below is what to expect once you have been approved for your Queensland Country Good for Good Community Grant.
- Receive an email confirming that your application has been approved. It will detail what the next steps will be and your points of contact.
- Receive funds – To receive your funds you will need to supply us with an invoice for payment of the grant amount. Be sure to tell us which account you would prefer the funds into.
- Funds will be deposited directly into your nominated account.
- Get started on your project – be sure to take lots of photos and share your progress with us
- Fundraise on behalf of Charity Partner. Be sure to let us know if you need a hand. We have over 13,000 Facebook followers and would love to reach out to people in your community.
- Pay it forward and send on your fundraising efforts to our Charity Partner
- Acquit Grant with Final Accountability Statement
What is a Final Accountability Statement?
The Final Accountability Statement is the final part of the grant process. It is a simple online form submission where you let us know the outcome of your project, load supporting information and documentation like receipts, photos or news articles. This is an important final step in the process and if not completed, your club will be ineligible for future grants from Queensland Country.
