Security of Internet Banking
Your personal information can only be obtained by you through the use of a personal access code. When you first obtain your access code from one of our staff, you have 24 hours to login to internet banking. If you don’t login during this time, the code will be de-activated to help keep your accounts safe.
It is suggested that you click the exit or log off button in CU Online once you have finished your banking to ensure no one accesses your accounts. If your screen remains idle for 20 minutes, the system will automatically log you off.
When using SMS security, a text message will be sent to a nominated mobile phone number. This text message will contain a password that needs to be entered into internet banking before the external transfer can be completed.
Using SMS security greatly increases the security of external transfers. We will only send an SMS in certain circumstances, for example, the first time you transfer over the pre-set floor limit to a new BSB and account number. Once that BSB and account combination is verified by the SMS password, they will become a “trusted” destination and won’t require SMS verification again.
Changing your PIN online
You now have the ablity to change your PIN through CUOnline, if you've forgotten your old one on an infrequently used card, if you have a preferred PIN you want to use on a new card, or for any other reason.
You'll need to have a 10 digit login to CUOnline (an "eclient number", which you'll recognise if it has 9010 or 9011 at the start) and SMS security enabled. Don't have these yet? Just give us a call on 1800 075 078 and we can activate that for you to give you greater security over your account.
