Queensland Country 2018 Regional

Queensland Country has announced that it will be hosting a Regional Conference for our employees on Saturday, 3 November 2018.

Queensland Country CEO, Aileen Cull, said the conference aims to improve our team’s knowledge and skills in the ever-changing environment of financial services and insurance while uniting the organisations after two mergers in quick succession.

“We’ll be taking the time to refresh our staff on the benefits of our Customer owned model and how that contrasts with businesses that have a focus on shareholders at the expense of their customers..

“While we have consistent training and development programs in place for our employees, it has been six years since we have brought the entire team together in the one location at the one time for a training and development event of this scale.

“We’ve seen firsthand the benefits of doing this through building team engagement, enhanced skills and knowledge and employee retention, which all translates through to better service for our Members.

“Our organisation has experienced rapid growth and change in the last five or so years, and our teams have been working tirelessly to deliver projects such as a core banking conversion, mergers and significant technology upgrades. In the process of all of these, we’ve seen many new employees join our organisation and this is an opportunity to bring all current employees together to celebrate our achievements and refocus for the future.

“Bringing together almost 400 employees from across Queensland and the Northern Territory is challenging. While we’ve made our best effort to minimise disruption to our services during the conference, there will be some Branch and Contact Centre closures outside of normal trading hours to allow remote and regional teams to travel to and attend the conference.”

Those Branches which normally trade on a Saturday will all be closed and similarly, the more isolated branches in Weipa, Mount Isa and Stanthorpe will be closing early on the Friday afternoon to connect with available flights.

Queensland Country Health Fund Service Centres will be closed on Friday, 2 November as our employees participate in a product training session at Head Office prior to the Conference.

The Credit Union Contact Centre will operate on reduced hours on Saturday, 3 November.
