UPDATED Friday 8 February 2019

Like many locals, Queensland Country Credit Union has been saddened to see the impact of the recent significant rain event and associated flooding in North Queensland. We can confirm that the following assistance will be made available for flood affected Members:

Recovery hub

An emergency services hub has been established to provide services to flood affected residents. The recovery hub is located at the Townsville Stadium, Murray Lyons Cres, Annandale.

Lending products

If you presently have any type of lending with Queensland Country and you feel you will not be able to make the agreed repayments now or in the future, please contact your local branch manager, call our contact centre on 1800 075 078 or visit us at the Townsville Stadium recovery hub to discuss what Queensland Country can do to help you. We can offer varying types of financial relief, including:

  • deferment of repayments for up to three months;
  • placing the loan on interest only; or
  • restructuring your loan to reduce repayments.

General Insurance

Our insurance partner, CGU Insurance, are available now to take your claims by calling 132 480. CGU have significant experience dealing with natural disasters. They already have assessors on the ground inspecting damage to impacted property.

In addition, CGU claims officers are now available to register new claims at the Townsville Stadium recovery hub.

If damage to your home or business has occurred, please document all damage for insurance purposes. Using photos or video is the best way to do this.

Direct financial assistance

Queensland Country has joined with a number of local businesses in pledging support to the flood assistance being provided by Givit – Good for Good Causes. A total donation of $50,000 has been made on behalf of Queensland Country Credit Union and Queensland Country Health Fund.

Members wishing to support flood affected families across Northern Queensland can donate too via GIVIT’s online Queensland Flooding Appeal.

Other information

Information on the government assistance available to flood affected Members is available on the State Government and Federal Government websites.
